IHG 4th-night reward when redeeming points

IHG’s fourth-night-free reward can provide significant value to IHG One Rewards loyalists. This perk allows members with select IHG credit cards to pay zero points for every fourth night when redeeming IHG points for award stays of four nights or longer.

You’re eligible for this perk if you have the IHG® Rewards Premier Credit Card, IHG® Rewards Traveler Credit Card or IHG® Rewards Premier Business Credit Card. In this post, we’ll look closer at IHG’s fourth-night-free reward, including how to get access to the benefit and book a stay.

The IHG fourth-night-free reward lets you pay zero points for every fourth night when you redeem IHG points for a stay of four or more nights.

This benefit applies to reward-night stays in a standard room booked with points for four or more consecutive nights. The nights must be within the same stay at the same property. So, you can’t combine separate bookings and get a fourth-night-free reward.

You can use the fourth-night-free reward on unlimited stays annually, but this perk doesn’t apply to paid stays or points-and-cash bookings.

The following three IHG credit cards provide access to the valuable fourth-night-free reward: IHG® Rewards Premier Credit Card, IHG® Rewards Traveler Credit Card and IHG® Rewards Premier Business Credit Card.

I get access to the fourth-night-free reward perk as an IHG Premier cardholder. The IHG Premier Card also provides several other useful perks, including:

  • Automatic IHG Platinum Elite status for as long as you’re an IHG Premier cardholder.
  • One anniversary reward night on each account anniversary, valid for a night costing 40,000 points or less. You must use the night within 12 months of issuance, but you can use existing points from your IHG account to redeem your anniversary night at hotels above the 40,000-point redemption level.
  • Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fee statement credit of up to $100 every four years.

Even if you’re unsure how frequently you’ll use the fourth-night-free reward, getting the IHG Premier Card may still make financial sense if you can use the card’s other perks.
